![]() The heel is nice and flat on this one, more so than my AS series. She's fairly average in terms of size and stature but just a shade generous in every direction, and as with all of Kurosaki's knives I've had the pleasure of sampling, she rocks disgustingly well without compromising the push cutter physique. Instead she felt awfully familiar, like a cliche deja vu, or as though I'd been reunited with an ex I still had a soft spot for. Maybe I'm a bit thick-skinned to presence or maybe it's because Kurosaki's AS KU 240 is my day to day, but she didn't have the same effect on me. Unsheathing her was like watching your co-workers gawk and frenzy over the new cute brunette who just walked through the kitchen and smiled at the cooks as not to be impolite. This effervescent eyeful wastes no time letting everyone know that the party has arrived, and right out of the roll she's casing the innards of the kitchen, sizing things up. If blades that chameleon their way through the jungle suit your fancy, mark the Shimo down as a "Nope". Many thanks George for finally putting an end to my long-standing curiosity and for allowing the community to grow through your selfless act of generosity. Lucky for me a fellow forum member, namely GeorgeK, so graciously offered his Masakage Shimo 240mm gyuto up for the masses to experience and allowed me to be the first in line. ![]() Well color me a hypocrite, but I've had a gut feeling about this one from the first moment I looked through the CKtG knife-o-dex and I've yet to take my own advice. ![]() ![]() I find myself offering this advice to anyone overwhelmed by the vast selection on the site and everybody who asks which knife is simply, "the best".
